A suggestion for those of us who travel

In recent times we in Australia have seen some of our citizens arrested, detained and put on trial for their lives because drugs have been found in their baggage.

It's all well and good to argue that these people deserve everything they get is they smuggled the drugs, however what if they did not?

What if the allegations in the press about baggage handlers being involved in planting drugs as a means of sending them overseas without risk is true?

What can the honest traveller do to protect him/herself from being set up?

I understand that there is someone in the Melbourne Airport who is making money hand over fist in providing a wrapping service to airline passengers. For a mere $8 per bag (size does not affect cost) each bag is wrapped in airtight plastic. This is supposed to eliminate tampering.

Well this is a solution I guess but one that is a little bit expensive and over the top. What about opening bags and taking a digital picture of the contents in front of witnesses and then keeping the image until you arrive at your destination and safely pass through customs.
